Spring Cleaning! May 3, 2010

I have been so inspired by those of you who are spring cleaning, plus the storms make the ground to wet to work in the garden or on the pool bank project, that we took some time to do a little spring cleaning.

The utility room,, kitchen and dining areas were done.





Michael offered to beat the rugs.





Wow, that looks amazing! I didn't think he could get it looking that good.





And we got the two bathrooms done.





Also on this day, some friends came over and we worked on a birthday cake for two very special and loved young men, Michael and his friend Nate. We were going to celebrate the next day and thought it would be fun to have some time together just putting a cake together.

As a bonus, I got help doing cleaning. I love to photograph my friends, but some are very camera shy, so I didn't take any photos of the hilarious day we had. But the cake was ready to go off the next morning on our adventure.

A little break from Gardening - April 27, 2010

A friend is taking cake decorating lessons. I have learned a little of it in the past, but one thing I KNOW is hard, is roses.

So she and her mom came over and we had a little rose lesson together.









Michael even tried his hand at it.









Practice makes perfect.





That was great fun! I need more practice.

April 17, 2009 ~ Cakes, Smoothies, Morning Light

This morning I pulled out of the freezer an ice cream cake I'd made a week before. It was fun to make, cake on the top, ice cream on the bottom. I made an absolutely delicious cream cheese frosting for the top, and enjoyed the spring feel to it.





Michael got a banana-pineapple smoothie for the first part of his breakfast.





And we welcomed the warmer morning weather back again. Straightening up the house and cooking today, for a party tomorrow afternoon and evening.





I think green is completely "IN".
