It took this long.

.

This is the very first day of this year that we saw honeybees on our land.

It was like welcoming old friends. We were so happy to see them!

Happy SUMMER!

.

Although, it's been such a sweltering spring that this actually caught me a little by surprise this morning. I knew in my head that today was the first day of summer, but actually hearing it on the news as I was making my bed just kind of whacked my brain... "Whoa, it already feels like it's been summer for a while!"

Anyway, enjoy this looooooongest day of the year today. Stay up and watch the moon if you are able. Ponder the stars and how God has created all of these to speak to you of His plan for the ages. Dwell on Him.

The days will be shortening from now on, for those of us who are northern globe-dwellers. Can you believe it? Just when we were getting going! But that means we can already begin planning for a fall garden. And since my spring garden has been less than stellar, I'm actually looking forward to a second shot at it.

The lettuce and pea beds will have another opportunity, and I hope to get the greenhouse and cold frames in before winter.

I can't believe I am already planning this!
