Kitchen Organization?

Yes, just as soon as I have time to finish!

We did the freezer outside.

And the canned goods cupboards.

And we started on the rest, although there is no photo of the badly-in-need-of-cataloguing spare bedroom which was taken hostage last year by filled canning jars and equipment....

But have been so busy with school that we haven't gotten any further.

I am adjusting to the fact that Michael's boots, which are now too small for him ---- Are too big for me. And I have big, size 10, feet!

I have been initiated into the world of eBay. I've probably put in a total of 40 hours and made about 10 bucks.

It gets better. I just know it does!

Got rid of this movie.

A lot of legal books...

An old joystick. And thanks to a special family who went out of their way to test if for us on their old computer.

And Michael, who seems to know things without being taught, took over installing our replacement ClearPlay set.

Ask me how your family can watch formerly unwatchable movies with this neat set up. We bought one about 5 years ago, but let our subscription run out. We are up and running again.

And Michael is really happy over this sitar case he was given to use as he pleased. He made it into a case for his airsoft gun.

The testing we are going to have done for Michael is the 1970 CAT. California Achievement Test. Its standards are higher than school standards for today, so we've been busy preparing for that. It's nice to have something different to do.

We are also taking a class together on the founding of the nation and, more specifically, the Constitution. They give these classes all over the place, and free; a 12 week, one night a week class with a little homework. So if you are interested, look up the IOTC, Institute On The Constitution, and sign up.

Enjoying snippets of spring-like weather,

  1. OK, so my OCD nerdiness is coming out here, but I've got to say, it warms my heart to look at your organized cabinets! :o) Nice work. And where on earth did you get a sitar case??? I'd say it's coming in much handier in its current occupation than it ever was before. :o)

  2. Hi Faith- I don't get to visit my favorite blogs as much as I used to these days. I just finished reading your post before this one and I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are facing. I truly do admire your perseverance.

I remember reading a little bit back about you wanting to get started in the whole ebay thing. Glad to read that you have had some success with it! I keep meaning to go through some of my homeschooling books and put them on there....one day. :)

  3. I just cleaned out our pantry today too. Must be the day for organizing food. lol

  4. Wow-lots getting accomplished! I've been working on pantry organization & stocking, too. Also made up 5 weeks worth of menu plans to rotate w/ the shopping lists included. That has been so helpful. Great pics! Holly

  5. I really need to do what you just finished doing. I keep saying I feel like clutter is taking over my life.

  6. Hello Faith,
Wondering if you found my address I posted for you

  7. faith I think I did something wrong with the tea. I started it on sunday but nothing is happening. I don't see anything growing on the top

  8. Beth,

Others call it OCD --- I call it a gift for organization.

    ANTI-CLUTTERers unite!

Still not done, though. One bite at a time.

We got a sitar case from a friend of ours. His ex-gf gave it to him and... lol Now it's Michael's.

  9. Cynthia,

There are several sites that specialize in reselling homeschooling books as well. You might have good luck with those.

Search Homeschool classifieds and see what you come up with.

  10. SFG,

When the weather is like this, it's a great time for it. Makes me feel like I'm preparing for new spring and summer produce.

  11. Holly,

Wow, Great job! I have not been doing well on my menu planning. But that was one of the motivators for organizing. Getting ready for the upcoming year, as well as having a better handle on what I had for meals, and a better system for keeping track of it.

It's on the computer. Now all I need to do is keep on top of entering and deleting data. hmmmm...

  12. Linda,

Clutter terrifies me, plain and simple.

  13. Sissy,

Yes, and the box is on it's way.

  14. Sweetheart's Mom,

Did you get my latest email? How are things going with it now?

I always enjoy hearing from others. If you become a regular commenter, I'll assume you are being friendly and pretty much comment regularly right back. :o) God bless and have a terrific day!
