A friend is taking cake decorating lessons. I have learned a little of it in the past, but one thing I KNOW is hard, is roses.
So she and her mom came over and we had a little rose lesson together.
Michael even tried his hand at it.
Practice makes perfect.
That was great fun! I need more practice.

They look nice! My mom used to decorate cakes as a hobby when i was a kid, she could bang out roses like mad, she was very good at it. We always had the most elaborate birthday cakes. Not quite the kind you see on the food channels with the fondant, gum paste and sugar work, but for the time and her hobby ambition, they were very impressive. I loved to watch her work.

ReplyDeleteI admire that so much. I was trying to learn cake decorating before my husband left and I had more time for home making. It's quite a skill!
